Reminder – PrepareAthon at Patchogue-Medford Library 4/6/16

The Greater Patchogue Community Organization Active in Disaster (COAD)Hello.  I hope everyone is doing well.  Just a reminder, the COAD is sponsoring a PrepareAthon at Patchogue-Medford Library {MAPon Wednesday April 6th.  Please spread the word.
 This Sunday, April 3rd,  we will have a table at the Paumanok Vet Hospital Open House.  A flyer is attached.
Next Saturday, April 9th from 11 to 4, we will have a table at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 49 South Street, Patchogue, Community Fair.
Finally, on May 4th there will be a Flood Insurance workshop presented by an attorney from Touro Law Center Sandy Recovery Law clinic.
Please share this information with your members and the community at large.
The next COAD meeting will be on June 6th at 5:00 pm at Briarcliffe College Patchogue NY.

Americas PrepareAthon

America’s PreparAthon – April 6 from 7 to 8 pm – Patchogue-Medford Library

Americas PrepareAthonAttached is the flyer for the event on April 6th.  Please share with your members and the public.  A flyer in Spanish will be sent shortly.  Thank you to Toni Dean, Chair of the GPCOAD Training and Education Committee and to Danielle Paisley, Assistant Director of the Patchogue-Medford Library, for their work on this event.
The GPCOAD will be participating in the open house at Paumanok Veternarian Hospital on Route 112 in Patchogue on Sunday April 3rd from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.  A copy of the flyer is attached.
We have also been invited to participate in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church community fair on April 10th.  More information to follow.
On May 3rd Touro Law School will be at Patchogue-Medford Library on what consumers need to know when purchasing homeowners insurance.  Flyer to follow.
Volunteer opportunities exist for community outreach.  Let me know if you have an hour or two or four to share our message of safety with the community at the events on April 3rd, April 6th, and April 10th.
