Change In Team Meeting Schedule

Team,

We had a great first Net last week and the round table provided good feedback. Due to the Holiday Season, our next Net will be held on Thursday January 8th at 8:00 PM.

Since some of our Team members are also SCRC members, the thought is to move future Nets to Thursday evenings to eliminate future SCRC  meeting conflicts.

During our next Net on 1/8 we can hold a Team discussion about the best day of the week to run our nets. Lets try to come up with a day most suitable for everyone.

Joe and I want to wish you and your family the very best of the Holiday Season.

Gary [KE2YK] asked me if I could write up a short article on the program I used to create map coverage of the w2ofd repeater system.

So let me start off with I use a program called [Radio Mobile] created back in 1988. But don’t let that year fool you it is quite up to date with today technology it is freeware so no spending $$$ on it.

It’s usually very on point with the coverage.

You should all check it out I will have an upcoming post to the site on how to use it more but if anyone needs help feel free to contact me via email.

Bellone Ends Plan To Install School Speed Cameras

Bellone: “Our research does not support the implementation of the speed zone camera program.”

(Hauppauge,  NY-December 8, 2014) – Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone – along with Suffolk County Legislators Sarah Anker, Jay Schneiderman, Tom Muratore, Thomas Barraga, Kate Browning, Al Krupski, Steve Stern and William Lindsay III – announced today the County will not implement speed cameras in school zones.  The announcement comes after Suffolk County conducted a year-long comprehensive analysis to determine how to appropriately implement the program.

“We will not implement the School Zone Speed Camera program in Suffolk County based on the research we have conducted over the past year,” said County Executive Bellone.  “In the past, we have implemented successful driver awareness programs, including our Red Light Camera program, which has shown to reduce serious vehicular accidents.  As always, we will continue to explore all avenues to improve the safety of our residents.”
