Severe Thunderstorm Warning

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Long Island, in effect until 4 p.m. Tuesday.

A cold front tracking through the region could bring severe storms with potentially damaging wind gusts and large hail to the island, the NWS says.

FEMA Launches National Volunteer Program

On June 17tFederal Emergency Management Agencyh, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with seven technology organizations to provide state, local, tribal and territorial governments with technology resources during a disaster to expedite response and recovery.
